Diagrams you make here are yours. Use them in your paid lessons, books, courses, thumbnails and videos, commercially, with no royalty and no permission needed.

Keep the credit line, or pay to drop it

Diagrams carry a small chordmate.life line underneath. It sits below the diagram, never across it, and nothing is ever printed over your chord. On the free plan, commercial use included, leave it on. A paid plan replaces it with your own logo or removes it entirely.

Chord shapes are facts

A fingering is information, not artwork, and we claim no copyright over the shapes you make. That cuts both ways and we would rather say so plainly: the credit line is a condition of the free plan, not a copyright we are asserting over your diagram.

Chord Mate itself is not yours

The diagrams are yours; the tool that draws them is not. The site, its source, the name and the branding stay ours. Use it as much as you like, including to make things you sell. Do not resell, rehost, rebrand or clone Chord Mate itself, and do not sell access to it.

Free to use, and no account

Creating and exporting - SVG, PNG, PDF, transparent background, every theme, every instrument, left-handed, capo - is free and needs no signup. Paid plans add saving, organising, sharing across a studio, and control of the credit line.
